Mary P. Brandt
Mary Patricia Guilfoyle Brandt, 71, passed away peacefully in Battle Creek, Mich., on Aug. 2, 2020.
Mary was born in Kalamazoo, Mich., the daughter of Harold and Rosemary (O’Rourke) Guilfoyle.
She graduated from St. Philip Catholic Central High School in 1968 and went on to earn her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Mary worked side by side with podiatrist Dr. Johnson in Battle Creek until his retirement.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; son Michael Brandt; brother Thomas Guilfoyle; and sisters-in-law Linda (Bun) and Linda Guilfoyle.
Surviving are children Jeff (Julie), Christy (Rick) Ulsh, Matthew (Amy); 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four brothers and sisters, Carole (Albert) Sutfin, Charles (Kay) Guilfoyle, James Guilfoyle, Shirley (Dennis) Hubbard; several nieces and nephews.
Mary enjoyed bowling, camping, traveling and wintering in Florida. She loved to laugh and was always ready with a hug and a smile! She was funny, witty and compassionate to everyone she met. Dancing and snuggling with her grandbabies would put a huge smile on her face.
She loved her family and friends who were like family, but her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren.
Funeral services are being held Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020, in Battle Creek, Mich. Visitation is at Baxter Funeral and Cremation Service from noon to 2 p.m. A graveside service is to follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens at 2:30 p.m. Invitation is open to the public to come celebrate Mary’s life with family and friends.
Following Covid-19 guidelines, 10 visitors will be allowed in the building at a time.
Memorial contributions can be made to Grace Hospice.
