Raymond E. Uren
Raymond Ernest Uren, 76, of Battle Creek, died Thursday, July 30, 2020, losing his battle of bladder cancer.
Mr. Uren, the son of the late Larry and Ida Uren, was born in Ann Arbor, Mich., Jan. 1, 1944. His education included graduation from Ann Arbor High School in 1962, followed by one year of college. He became a radio announcer and was employed by several broadcast companies.
He was a Class A butterfly swimmer in the early 1960s. He was an avid golfer, member of several senior golf leagues and participated in the Senior PGA Tours from 1980 to 1995. He enjoyed cooking, music, reading and nature. His love for nature made him an avid camper.
He is survived by son and caregiver, Barry J. Uren, of Battle Creek; stepdaughter, Cherrie Brighton, Rothbury, Mich.; granddaughters, Amy Lynn Uren and Sasha Ann Uren, both of Battle Creek.
Memorial services are planned for later this year.
